Both Sides of the Pond Have Gone Mad

Article by Chuck Norris on a provision in Obama's health insurance power grab which is remarkably similar to SIN BINS in the UK which already have video monitors in place.

The UK is decades ahead of us on the road to Coventry and so should be a good lesson for us on what not to do. Unfortunately the thugs in the White House can't wait to take us down that same road. They've told us they're all so well read and smart, you'd think they'd know what old George Santayana said about those who do not remember history.

Read the whole bill here HR 3200
The US: Sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading "home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children." The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, "well-trained and competent staff," would "provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains ... modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices," and "skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development."

The UK: The Children’s Secretary set out £400million plans to put 20,000 problem families under 24-hour CCTV super-vision in their own homes.
They will be monitored to ensure that children attend school, go to bed on time and eat proper meals.
Private security guards will also be sent round to carry out home checks, while parents will be given help to combat drug and alcohol addiction.

Around 2,000 families have gone through these Family Intervention Projects so far.
