UPDATE - Survived another freezing night!
Last night the temperature went down to 28F. The picture below taken this morning doesn't do justice to the color or the majesty of the bougainvillea growing along the southeast side of the fence. It's well over 10 feet high and 15 or more feet wide -- a real show stopper.

We're expecting another Alberta Clipper (thanks a lot Peter) tonight. I sure hope Big Red can withstand another one.

Down to 28°F? It didn't get up to that here the last couple of days.
You're welcome, erp. Minus twenty and windy here for the last two days, built on the heaviest snow and most gorgeous December in years. But your revenge is coming. Rain and temperatures in the forties starting Sunday for a few days, which will wreck skiing and skating and leave everything a grey, dirty slop.
No revenge is sought. We lived in Vermont for a long time and I'm very familiar with the weather cycles. One morning it was 40 below and went up to 30 by afternoon. Only a 70 degree swing.
The January thaw competed with the March mud season as the worst time of the year in the north country.
In a couple of days we'll be back in the seventies, if not eighties. Come on down and warm up.
