PJ O'Rourke on Patriotism

PS: It isn't about wearing a flag lapel pin.

24 Hours on the 'Big Stick'
What you can learn about America on the deck of the USS 'Theodore Roosevelt.'
by P.J. O'Rourke 4/28/2008
In this never-never land [America] a couple of tinhorn Second City shysters--who, put together, don't have the life experience of the lowest ranking gob-with-a-swab cleaning a head on the Big Stick--presume to run for president of the United States.
Funny not much has been made of the coincidence that both Hillary and Obama are from the Chicago area of Illinois, she a native daughter and he an adoptive son and although they are a generation apart, they're both on the far left of the political spectrum. One would have thought that Hillary might have gained some wisdom or that Obama might have seen the error of the ways of his elders, but not so, both want to continue down the path of proven disaster.

All those learned degrees and so little learned.

I have about everything PJ has published, absent CEO of the Couch.

Haven't got around to it yet.

Read it a while back and didn't think it was as hard hitting as some of his other stuff. I do love the guy and often think that he and Steyn were twins separated at birth.
