A Full Court Press Like Nothing We've Seen Before

Jose Serrano, D. N.Y. introduced the following bill repealing the 22nd amendment limiting the presidency of the United States to two terms - note the date is January 6, 2009.

If we warn that the left wants the One to be the Only, we'll be accused of being paranoic crazed conspiracy nuts, so most people will shrug it off and say it'll never pass ... But they forget that incrementalism is a creeping menace.

The notion will be presented as the only way to fix a completely broken economy and avoid another meltdown they blame on Bush and lack of regulation and to allow President Obama the time he'll need to change things without worrying about time limitations.

Forgotten will be that the meltdown was orchestrated to occur just in time to elect Obama by the very same power brokers still pulling the strings. People who want to increase the power of the presidency through the weak compliant Obama, so they can amass unimaginable wealth and power.

The United States? Thrown under the bus with the rest of the Anglosphere.

Far-fetched? Hyperbole? Unfortunately, by the time everybody sees it, it'll be far too late to reverse it.

erp,

I certainly understand your concern.

However, since 75% of the states would need to ratify it, it seems highly unlikely to me.

All the events of the past 75 years would have seemed unlikely to me. From the mythification of the New Deal on down the line. From pride in America to contempt. From pride in self-sufficiancy to the entitlement mentality and pride of sticking it to the man. From cherishing children to late-term abortion. As they say, I could write a book.

As always, I hope to be proven wrong.
