G20 summit: Obama to arrive amid 'huge razzmatazz'
London (PTI): Embarking on his first overseas trip as the U.S. President, Barack Obama will arrive here on Tuesday for the G20 summit amid "huge razzmatazz", with an entourage of 500 staff, an armour-plated limousine and a fleet of decoy helicopters.Travelng with 200 secret service agents, six-doctor medical team, a fleet of decoy helicopters and a team from the White House kitchen.
Mr. Obama is visiting Britain for the first time and a White House cavalcade complete with armoured limousines, helicopters, 200 U.S. Secret Service staff and a six-doctor medical team will also station here during his trip, The Observer reported on Sunday.
More than 500 officials and staff will accompany Mr. Obama, along with a mass of high-tech security equipment, including the $300,000 Presidential limousine, known as 'The Beast' which is fitted with nigh-vision camera, reinforced steel plating, tear gas cannon and oxygen tanks, the report said.
In addition, a team from the White House kitchen will travel with the President, who will arrive here on Tuesday amid huge razzmatazz, it said.

No mention of whether or not there would be a ceremonial procession with the One sitting high above the crowd on a caparisoned elephant.
Good thing the "Hindu News" is on the job or we'd never know about the One's absurd excesses.

I think this is standard stuff for POTUS trips overseas.
Not so sure. If Bush had taken 500 people including his chiefs with him, it wouldn't have been kept quiet.

A friend of mine was once part of Clinton's advance team.
He once rattled off what the whole international traveling package entailed. I don't remember it exactly, but it seemed on par with this.
No better could be expected from Clinton, but I'll bet no such entourage accompanied Bush. I read in a Guardian article that Obama's "valet" dials his Blackberry for him and gets him his snacks.
May the gods perserve us from such poseurs.
I do remember when Hillary decided to go to the Olympics in Norway, 18 people went with her!

But previous Presidents didn't make such a big deal of their Green Credibility. I think there is nothing more fair and reasonable than to judge people on the standards they claim are important.
